Pre-production Log: Script

After the basic draft of all the main events that gave me the basic outline of what was going to happen and when it came to the script i needed to fill in the blanks like how would each of those events link together and would would be happening between them and how would i capture it and thats exactly what i thought about as i went through the script step by step creating all those human moments and allow me to think of ways of filming each and every scene along with thinking what would work best with the audience and with what i have and change things for example in the proposal and first draft i included the main character's mother as a side character but to make it more believable and more natural for the audience and easier for the actors instead i made the role the older brother instead so going through the script allowed me to change things making me see how it would all work and what wouldn't work

Pre-production Log: First Draft of Events

After coming up with the vague story within three acts i then moved onto making a first draft of all the main events and important parts that would push each part of the narritive and just as i also had an idea of the opening i just added it in so id remember that it would transition from the opening straight into the story starting with introducing the charecter to all the decisions he makes which leads him down the path that it does which helped me then think about what kind of shots i could do for each main part and visualize how it would be done

Pre-production Log: Proposal

To start on the proposal i began with highlighting the message i wanted to send through the film then moved onto the plot of the film and went on to making the characters and who id need to push the naritive and from that i identified the targeted audience and who id be then targeting which then started to taylor the film thinking of the audience and what would be best for them rather than just what id want and with that in mind i finally began to think about the acts going through the story thinking of what i want to happen and how i want to go from one point to the next then the ending

Pre-production Log: Initial Ideas

I then wanted to expand upon the type of short film i wanted to make and starting with the reason i chose the genre "crime" then listed the equipment i had so  knew my limtations equipment-wise then looked at the types of costumes and clothes needed for the film and the locations that i would need and added a basic idea of the story which seemed more like a blurb on the back of a book and then outlined ideas and techniques with props and their purpose which all alowed me to invision shots, scenes and what i could do with what i had

Unit 4 Pre-production Log: Genre

I started with identifying the genre of the type of short film i wanted to make, i settled on a crime thriller and so i then looked at conventions of films in those types of genres and there was a lot of recurring themes like harsh upbringings and alcohol and other substances abuse so i then looked at conventions within British crime films and a lot of them include parties or social events this then i moved onto thrillers and the types of styles and tecniques that are frequently used and what i could use in my own film like the types of lighting shots
